Aha! So that's what the GTA V Vestra is based off of...Awesome!

I'm excited about twin engined personal planes!

I like the idea. Wish I were economically suited for one... but I am glad they exist...
I really liked the Eclipse 400.
I can only imagine if it were even more streamlined like the Bugatti 100P, but jet propelled, rather than twin-engined and counter-rotating prop-driven.

Maybe in 10 years when it's certified...

Does it go fast enough to make me desire it?
![]() 03/25/2014 at 15:49 |

Mainly I follow commercial airliners, but my my, that looks unreal!!!

Probably, but they have full funding and production is scheduled to start in 2015. This flight was with a conforming vehicle built to production specs based on information from FAA certification agreements.

Max cruise is 300 kts.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 15:52 |

That's not fast enough. 440 or bust.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 15:58 |
|
440 = 4x the price.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 16:01 |

But I want to go fast.

Williams International V-Jet II. Burt Rutan design.
I really don't like his designs, it's ugly IMO. But it's a similar thing.

No this is Cirrus, not Honda

Indeed, could do with more conventional looking windows for sure!

Here you go.

That's a Scaled Composites thing

To big. I want my own personal fighter jet minus the fighter part.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 16:22 |

Closer?
![]() 03/25/2014 at 16:23 |
|
YESSSSS!!!!!!!! But does it go over 400kts? preferably 440kts?
![]() 03/25/2014 at 16:33 |
|
Max out at 500kts. Too bad they went bankrupt.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 16:37 |
|
Damn, I would have taken two...
![]() 03/25/2014 at 16:38 |

Conceptually? Yeah, this looks super cool.
Practically? God no. They're going to be digging doctors out of every hillside in the country. The average private pilot struggles to fly more than a few hundred hours a year, and a jet like this is going to be extremely difficult to operate on that little consistent practice.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 16:45 |

Not so sure. I bet it'll have flight characteristics much like the SR22 which is the best selling single engine aircraft. Plus it has a parachute.

Except even faster, with less parasitic drag, and much slower throttle response.
I know it would seriously hurt sales, but stuff like this should require type-certification, at least.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 17:19 |
|
Its being marketed at having very good slow flying capabilities, and you will be required to be typed.
![]() 03/25/2014 at 17:28 |

Being good at going slow isn't the same as getting slow, although that's a problem all the newer composite airframes have.
Good to know about the type-rating, though.

Side-by-side seating? No deal. That's like a sports car with four doors.

I'll think about it when I come close to being able to afford it.
